Questions About Your Website
How do I add a domain name to my account?
Only Superstar Plan accounts can add domain names to their accounts. Free Plan accounts must upgrade if they want to add a domain name. You can add a domain name to your account by clicking on the Edit Domain Name link in the Edit Your Account section.
After you have added your domain name, you also need to update the domain name server settings at the registrar of your domain. You can do this by following the instructions on the Edit Domain Name page.
If you want to change the domain name on your account, then remove the current domain name, and add the new one on this page. You will also need to update the domain name server settings at the registrar of your domain.
It takes up to 72 hours for a domain name change to take effect.
I can't see my website.
There may be two reasons why you can't see your website.
The first is if you have not published anything that you have created with the website builder. Make sure that you have clicked on the publish button in the file manager of the website building software, and that you have gotten a success message.
The second is that if you just set up your domain name with Blockstar, then it will take up to 72 hours for your settings to take effect. During this time, try sites.blockstar.com/your_username/. For instance if your username is Joe then try to find your site under sites.blockstar.com/joe/.
What is an index page?
An index page is the default web page that will get requested when someone types in your domain name. For instance if you type in just www.yourdomainname.com, then the page that will be shown is the index.html file.
You need to create a page called index.html in the website builder, and publish it to your website. This page will serve as the default page when someone types in sites.blockstar.com/your_username/ or www.yourdomainname.com.
How do you measure bandwidth and storage?
In our system, we only measure images and other uploaded files in our bandwidth and storage measurements.
Bandwidth is measured for any request of an image or file in your account. This includes you requesting images to build or edit pages, you looking at your own pages, and other sites linking to an image in your account.
